The college basketball season may have just begun, but it didn’t take long for the first cheap shot of the 2017-18 campaign that was caught on camera to go viral.
Duke’s Wendell Carter Jr. got tangled up with Michigan State’s Ben Carter during Tuesday night’s Champions Classic matchup, and the Spartans forward grabbed his opponent’s jersey.
Wendell responded by elbowing Ben in the jaw, which sent the Spartans player to the floor.

Wendell was hit with a technical foul for delivering the cheap shot, which seemed like the correct call, even though some believed he should’ve been ejected from the game.
