The Denver Broncos sit tied for first in the AFC West, but head coach Gary Kubiak isn’t taking the pressure off quarterback Trevor Siemian.
As the man tasked with replacing Peyton Manning, Siemian has looked good at times and passable at all others. He’s completing 61.7 percent of his passes with eight touchdowns to four interceptions, though he’s thrown more than one score in a game just once.
The Denver Post‘s Cameron Wolfe provided some thoughts from the team after Siemian did little to nothing in a 27-19 win against the San Diego Chargers in which he threw for no scores and a pick:
Gary Kubiak said Trevor Siemian's near-interceptions are teachable when they are "near" if not they cost you games.

A few #Broncos defenders did admit it's hard not to get frustrated w offensive struggles at times, especially after turnover day like today.

A Monday interview was most telling, though:

Kubiak says Siemian needs to continue to improve, which is correct—the Broncos might not make it far in the postseason with such an inconsistent quarterback. It takes one game of those near-interceptions to sink the Broncos against a playoff team.
That said, it’s not like the Broncos have any other options. It’s just rookie Paxton Lynch behind him, a guy who over two games flashed his inexperience with two touchdowns to one interception.
Siemian, now called out publicly by his head coach, has some work to do.
