Alabama quarterback Tua Tagovailoa is the overwhelming favorite to win the Heisman Trophy, and it’s hard to see anyone else winning at this point.
Like Baker Mayfield last season, Tagovailoa played head and shoulders above everyone else, and did so consistently throughout the season. He didn’t have a single bad game, and his team won undefeated.
He’s currently recovering from an ankle injury, though, and actually underwent surgery last Sunday to correct it. The high-ankle sprain didn’t prevent him from doing his duties at the Heisman pressers on Friday, though, as he rolled in on a scooter — wearing a large walking boot.

Here’s a better shot of the boot, from last night’s CFB Awards.

One lasting imagine from last night’s CFB Awards: Oklahoma Coach Lincoln Riley, sitting two seats from Alabama QB Tua Tagovailoa and his massive boot, had to be thinking, “Is this guy really going to be 100% on Dec. 29?” pic.twitter.com/PxKSjX9k8w
