Those who saw Carolina Panthers quarterback Luke Kuechly suffer a concussion on Thursday Night Football against the New Orleans Saints won’t forget it.
We talked about the concussion here, which provides video of the incident. Kuechly went down, then broke into tears while getting carted off the field.
The issue makes for Kuechly’s second concussion in as many seasons. Given the severity and frequency, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported he might seek the help of a specialist:
Kuechly now is considering traveling to Pittsburgh this week to visit a concussion specialist, Dr. Micky Collins, to get a second opinion on the injury and how he should proceed.
This issue places Kuechly on the shelf while his Panthers try to fight back into the playoff picture in the odd NFC South. Many, including opponents, have come out to support Kuechly after the issue:

More importantly, Kuechly doesn’t have a clear timetable for return. The Panthers certainly won’t rush it. Kuechly is one of the best in the league at what he does, but the severity of these issues has now taken center stage, as both of his injuries over the past two seasons have been more brutal than most.
With any luck, Kuechly eventually gets a green light and manages to avoid any further complications.
