Luke Kuechly practices Wednesday

New Orleans Saints v Carolina Panthers

Panthers middle linebacker Luke Kuechly was back at practice Wednesday, according to Pro Football Talk.

Kuechly suffered a concussion in the Panthers’ 23-20 win over the Saints on Nov. 17, a Thursday-night game. He’s missed the Panthers’ last two games, both losses on the West Coast.

Practicing Wednesday doesn’t guarantee that Kuechly’s head injury has recovered well enough for game action. But the three-time Pro Bowler missed three games with a concussion last season, and it looks like he’ll do all he can to keep his absence from stretching to three games this season.

Just because the Panthers (4-8) have only a faint chance of making the playoffs, it doesn’t seem like Kuechly has any interest in calling it a season. The emotional reaction to his injury on Nov. 17 made it apparent that he wants to play so badly he doesn’t need a playoff berth as an incentive.
