Alabama head coach Nick Saban is not about the ripped jeans life.
Saban, who grew up in Fairmont, West Virginia, informed reporters that he was embarrassed to wear them growing up, in a recent press conference.
And now, with the designer jeans costing up to a few hundred dollars for a pair, Saban just can’t come to grips with the fact that ripped jeans are so trendy.
“How did we get here?” he asked.
Saban continued on his ripped jeans tirade:
“When I was a kid in West Virginia, I was ashamed to go to school because my jeans were wore out, only because we didn’t have any better. Now they buy them that way,” he remarked.

Saban does raise a point. When my jeans were ripped as a kid, my parents would sew a patch on them. It made them look ugly, but hey, they weren’t ripped.
At least prospective Bama players now know what not to wear during an interview with the team’s head coach.
