The Oilers are back in action tonight as they host the Minnesota Wild. Cam Talbot is back in net tonight after winning his first game in eleventy billion weeks. Look for him to have another big game as he looks to build on his last win.
Valentin Zykov makes his Oiler debut tonight, as well.
Keys to the Game
Edmonton
- Get more shots on net, and make them go in. (Yeah, yeah, it’s not that easy, but…) The Oilers are winning, but they aren’t scoring much. It’s not unsustainable, but it sure would be nice to win some games by more than a goal.
Minnesota
- Keep the Oilers to the perimeter, and force Talbot to make some tough saves. Eventually, the pucks will find the back of the net.
Players to Watch
Edmonton
- Cam Talbot will be a player to watch. He’s coming back into the lineup after being relegated to the backup role and it will be interesting to see what will happen if he keeps playing well.
- Connor, obviously.
Minnesota
- Devan Dubnyk. He’ll probably have a good game against the Oilers because of course he will.

Notes
All is not yet lost with this Oiler team. It seems that their coaching change has worked, at least for now. One of the things to watch in the near future is how well they battle back from adversity if McDavid happens to miss a game or two. As it stands right now, they’re still mostly a one line team and that is certainly not sustainable.
