Oklahoma HC Lincoln Riley talks about rumors of becoming NFL head coach

It figures that Oklahoma head coach Lincoln Riley will draw a ton of interest from NFL teams about open positions.

If he’s interested, of course.

Riley and his camp have been fairly quiet about the subject thus far, as his team prepares for its biggest game of the season, when they’ll square off against Alabama on Saturday in the College Football Playoff.

Riley finally addressed the elephant in the room in speaking to reporters on Thursday, and he had this to say about the subject.

“I can’t tell you how I’m gonna feel in 10 years, but no, not right now,” Riley said, according to Howie Kussoy of the New York Post. “If I wasn’t at one of the elite programs in the country, maybe, but no, I’m very happy where I’m at right now.”

He continued:

“If it was 20, 30 years ago, where there were some major differences, maybe. … The way the college game has evolved, financially it’s a lot better situation now when you compare it to NFL teams. We’re at a place where we’re happy, and we don’t take that for granted. I love coaching at Oklahoma, love coaching college football.”
