Randy Moss would leave the Cowboys out of the playoffs if he had a choice

Randy Moss won’t be the most popular guy in Dallas this week.

Moss, appearing on NFL Sunday Countdown, revealed he wouldn’t vote for the Dallas Cowboys to make the playoffs if the NFL followed a format like college football’s College Football Playoff.

Moss’ reasoning, captured by SportsDayDFW.com, seems flimsy:

Moss: “I’m leaving the Dallas Cowboys out. Y’all are going on records, I’m going on who is ready for the playoffs and who has the experience.”

Moss: “I don’t care about that. Wait until January, they might be the first team to exit, boy, keep talking.”

So in other words, Moss would leave out the 11-1 team. The team with rookie quarterback Dak Prescott, who has 19 touchdowns to two picks on the year. The team with rookie Ezekiel Elliott, a monster with 1,285 yards and 12 scores. The team with a defense only allowing 19 points per game.

Nobody could contest Moss’ point about Dallas’ inexperience. And maybe he’s right, perhaps the issue causes the Cowboys to crumble under the bright lights of the playoffs.

But to leave the league’s best team out of the playoffs? Silly. Call it bulletin-board material for Prescott and Elliott, who surely want to hit the postseason running and contend for a title.
