It is becoming increasingly likely that Sunday’s game in New York will be the last played by Jay Cutler as a member of the Chicago Bears.
According to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, Cutler is believed to have torn his labrum in his throwing shoulder—an injury that would almost certainly cost him the rest of the 2016 season.

The Bears already signed quarterback David Fales off the Baltimore Ravens’ practice squad. If Cutler can’t play on Sunday against the Tennessee Titans, Matt Barkley would likely make the start at quarterback, with Fales as his backup.
Cutler, on the other hand, may never start for the Bears again.
Speculation continues to swirl that the Bears will rid themselves of Cutler at the end of the 2016 season. If that happens, and Cutler doesn’t play again this season, his last pass as a member of the Bears will be the interception he threw to Giants safety Landon Collins to end Sunday’s loss to New York.
Over just five games in 2016, Cutler threw for 1,059 yards, four touchdowns and five interceptions.
Loser of two straight, the Bears are now 2-8 and headed for a top pick in the 2017 NFL draft—especially with Cutler likely to be on the sidelines for the final six games. A new future at quarterback will be high on Chicago’s priority list this offseason.
