Floyd was cut by the Arizona Cardinals on Wednesday following a DUI arrest on Monday. He played in 13 games this season, catching 33 passes for 446 yards and four touchdowns. Floyd, who was drafted 13th overall in 2012 out of Notre Dame, has totaled 242 receptions, 3,739 yards and 23 touchdowns in four-plus seasons with the Cardinals.
The Patriots will likely be without Danny Amendola on Sunday for the second straight game, as he remains sidelined with an ankle injury. The Patriots are also without star tight end Rob Gronkowski, who was placed on injured reserve earlier this month, so Floyd might have an opportunity to get some playing time with New England this season if the team sees him as a fit.
