Richard Sherman and the Seahawks aren’t panicking over their 38-10 loss at Lambeau Field Sunday.
“Everybody needs to get a wake-up call,” Sherman told The Seattle Times. “It’s cool. They played a good game, and you have to give them credit. But we appreciate the wake up.”
It almost sounds like Sherman considers the Packers’ beatdown a form of hospitality at Hotel Lambeau. The Packers gave them a wake-up call and perhaps some complimentary shampoo.
The Seahawks (8-4-1) really will appreciate the wake-up call if it sets them straight enough for a run to their third Super Bowl in four years. But they’ll have to straighten out the roller-coaster pattern of their season.
They’ve lost two of their last three games and Sunday’s loss was the franchise’s worst since Week 9 of the 2010 season. Sherman and Russell Wilson haven’t experienced a loss like this in their pro careers, but they don’t have time to stew about it. They host the Rams Thursday and finish the season at home against Arizona and at San Francisco.
If they lose to any of those soft opponents, then it will be time to panic.
