Penn State running back Saquon Barkley is very much in the mix for the Heisman Trophy, especially after what he did against Iowa on Saturday night.
Barkley was a force to be reckoned with from start to finish in the game, as he rushed 28 times for 211 yards (one touchdown), and also caught 12 passes for another 94. It seemed like every time the Nittany Lions needed to move the chains in a key situation, Barkley came up big and did whatever he could to pick up a first down. He was the clear difference-maker in the game, and Penn State needed him to be, because quarterback Trace McSorley did not play particularly well through the first three quarters.
On one particular third down, McSorley targeted Barkley and it looked like he was going to be stopped short of the sticks, as he was met by a Hawkeyes defender. But Barkley was not fazed at all, and he calmly hurdled the defender — staying in the air for what seemed like forever — to get some space and pick up the yardage he needed for the first down.

Iowa put forth a valiant effort and was a play away from pulling off the upset, but Barkley was too much for them to handle, and the Nittany Lions remain undefeated after the thrilling 21-19 victory.
