It isn’t often one gets to peer into the mind of an NFL coach and see how he feels about trade rumors.
This might have happened Sunday with New Orleans Saints coach Sean Payton, who retweeted a fan blasting NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport about trade rumors.
The Tweet Payton retweeted:
plz research JUST A LITTLE BIT instead of closing your eyes&throwing a dart@a board to decide what you're going to "report"

Yikes.
Here is a closer look at Rapoport‘s report:
The offseason might be a different story. Cooks’ frustration with his role in the offense led some to wonder if this is the best system for his talents, something the Saints likely will explore in the offseason.
Expect trade talks centered around Cooks leading up to the free-agency window, with the speedster no doubt set to draw interest.
Reports suggested Cooks was frustrated with the Saints lately, which makes sense because he just had a game where Drew Brees didn’t target him once. While it seems like an overreaction to go from frustration to a trade rumor, this hasn’t been the first time Cooks’ name has come up in rumors.
Fans won’t find many supporters of a Cooks trade, at least from the Saints’ vantage point. He’s one of the most explosive wideouts in the league and only 23 years old. He went for 1,138 yards and nine scores last year and already has 736 and six through 11 games.
Things are certainly weird between Cooks and the Saints right now—so keep in mind the Saints haven’t been afraid to trade major stars in the past, hence the Jimmy Graham deal.
Payton and the Saints’ behavior in the past makes this is a more credible rumor than most, so keep an eye out.
