Duke was lucky to beat Florida State, which they did via a walk-off three-pointer to end the game, but they could not escape the jaws of defeat against Syracuse at Cameron Indoor Stadium on Monday night.
The Orange battled from start to finish, even as 17-point road underdogs. The spread didn’t mean much, as the two looked like equals, even with the Blue Devils at home, where they haven’t lost all season.
But Syracuse’s Elijah Hughes really stunned the home crowd when he drained a heave from the opposite free-throw line to beat the first-half buzzer. This was nearly a full-court shot!
Well, Syracuse’s Elijah Hughes just hit it from almost full court. Wow. pic.twitter.com/E2ryOuMGYp

Syracuse went on to win, 95-91, in overtime. The players were pumped about knocking off the No. 1-ranked Blue Devils, and they celebrated like it with a locker room dance party.

That’s cause for celebration for sure.
