Texas Longhorns fans were excited about the beginning of the Tom Herman era heading into Saturday’s game against Maryland. With the Horns listed as an 18-point underdog, what could go wrong?
Well, everything.
The team fell behind 27-7 and was never able to recover from there. The Longhorns defense gave up 482 total yards, and against the Terps, that’s terrible.
Fans were not happy about it, and reacted by throwing objects onto the field with just a few minutes remaining in the fourth quarter and Texas trailing 44-34.

Most Longhorns fans were not happy about the gesture, and understandably so.

It’s a long season, and yeah, that’s not a good look from the fans — especially this early in the team’s 2017 campaign.
