Houston Texans quarterback Brock Osweiler appeared to be the main target for a green laser coming from the stands at Estadio Azteca during the Oakland Raiders’ 27-20 win over the Texans in Mexico City.
Osweiler admitted after the game that the laser was distracting.
“I’ve never experienced a laser being shined in my eyeball during a football game, let alone a professional football game in the National Football League,” Osweiler said, via Sarah Barshop of ESPN. “So I think that was certainly disappointing. But at the end of the day, that’s not why we lost the game. That was just one small factor. But it certainly affected how I was playing.”

Osweiler completed 26 of 39 passes for 243 yards, one touchdown and one interception.
The lasers began shining on Osweiler and the Texans during the second quarter. Sean McDonough of ESPN’s Monday Night Football broadcast reported that NFL security was investigating the problem while attempting to locating the fan responsible for the lasers, but the lights continued to be pointed at Texans players into the second half.
On one play, Osweiler threw an inaccurate pass to DeAndre Hopkins with the laser pointed right at his helmet.
“I’m still gathering information on what exactly took place, but all I know at this point is, when we were out there on the field on offense, there were multiple times I saw a green laser coming from the stands,” Osweiler said. “There were a couple of times it definitely hit me in the eye. And it was very noticeable.”
