Chargers tickets 41% below average for Sunday’s game vs Chiefs

The San Diego Chargers continue to be one of the NFL’s most welcome surprises, as they enter Week 7 with a 5-1 record. Philip Rivers is playing lights out football and has the Bolts riding an impressive five game winning streak, one that could continue at home against the division rival Kansas City Chiefs this week.

This one carries all kinds of hype thanks to Rivers’ play and San Diego’s scorching hot start, but add the rivalry factor in, and it’s also a killer value. So much so, that Chargers vs Chiefs tickets are somehow just $134.86 on average on the secondary market. That price is 41% below the season average for home San Diego Chargers tickets in 2014. The get-in price for the game is just $43.

San Diego fans can see their Chargers notch a sixth straight win this week, while at the same time knock off a division rival – and all on the cheap. It’s a glorious thought, especially since San Diego historically starts off the season slow and doesn’t put together winning streaks until later in the year.

That’s just the opposite this year, though, and Rivers’ excellent play should have it continuing on. After all, Kansas City does not have an imposing pass defense, while Rivers has done a fabulous job at avoiding pressure and has thrown just two interceptions against 15 touchdowns through six games. Rivers’ excellent run may put added pressure on Chiefs quarterback Alex Smith to perform, as he has a tough test on his hands against an underrated Chargers defense on the road. San Diego has been especially tough in front of their home crowd, too, as they managed to hang 30+ points on the Seahawks, Jaguars and Jets at home this year. That gives them a 3-0 mark in their own stadium, too, and should have them getting to 4-0 with another solid performance against the Chiefs in Week 7.

Kansas City’s only real chance in this one is if they either control the tempo by running Jamaal Charles wild, or if they somehow rattle Rivers. Since the latter is unlikely with how good Rivers has been, it’s Charles going off or bust for KC in this tough Week 7 contest.
