Chargers tickets 9% above average for Seahawks game

The San Diego Chargers let one slip away in Week 1 against the Arizona Cardinals. Now after that heartbreak, they get to take on the defending Super Bowl champion Seattle Seahawks in Week 2. That’s probably not how San Diego wanted to start the season. While the matchup is beyond formidable, San Diego at least gets the challenge on their home field. In fact, With the game being the home opener, along with the quality of competition, the game will be one of the most expensive on the Chargers schedule this season.

Chargers vs Seahawks tickets have an average price of $217.50 on the secondary market. ($128 to get in),  That would make the game 9% above the season average of San Diego Chargers tickets at home this season, which is just below $200.

With all thing considered, that value could look good for fans, but will this week’s tough battle on paper end with a loss and an 0-2 hole or a massive upset that anyone attending will be lucky to have seen in person? San Diego’s defense as a whole could be up to the task of pitching in for an upset, as they looked solid in week one against the Cardinals, despite being on the road. Stopping Russell Wilson, Marshawn Lynch and Percy Harvin is a whole different ball game, of course, but the Chargers seem to have enough talent to give it a go. Their run defense was solid in 2013 and didn’t give up much in week one, and if they can show up and bottle up Lynch, they could put some added pressure on Wilson and Seattle’s passing game.

Everyone knows the real trick will be what Philip Rivers and the Bolts’ offense can do against Seattle’s vaunted defense, however. Aaron Rodgers and Peyton Manning are the last two elite passers to get completely shut down by this man-eating Seahawks defense, so it certainly will be easier said than done. Rivers and co. have already publicly said they won’t go the Packers’ route and let Seattle take away half the field by not challenging star cornerback Richard Sherman. They key in this one may very well be just how much San Diego attacks Sherman, and what, if any, success they find in doing so.
