The San Diego Chargers were a surprise playoff team in 2013, firing on all cylinders down the stretch to grab the 6th seed. They ultimately would defeat the Cincinnati Bengals in the 1st round, before falling to the eventual-AFC champion Denver Broncos in the Divisional round.
Last year, Phillip Rivers and company could not replicate their 2013 success, losing three out of their last four games and failing to clinch a playoff spot. Nonetheless, they proved that 2013 was no fluke and they have a battered core of players that will be looking to get back to the playoffs in 2015.
The nation will be taking note of San Diego on Monday Night Football twice this season with the Chargers hosting the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 5 and the Chicago Bears in Week 9. Both games will be on ESPN, which is a channel available on the DISH Network as part of their $29.99 per month package. That is quite the deal when you compare it to the price of admission for the two games.
According to TiqIQ.com, the Steelers game is the most expensive regular season home game for the Chargers in 2015. The average ticket price is currently $397 with the cheapest ticket at $164. The average price is $150 more expensive than the second highest game – Week 13 versus the Denver Broncos. You’d be able to purchase DISH TV for the entire NFL season for less than the cost of the cheapest ticket to the game.
For the Bears game, the average ticket price is $242 with the cheapest ticket currently at $66. You’d be able to purchase two months of DISH for less than the cost of admission.
Both games are very winnable with the Steelers and Bears defenses struggling mightily last season. If the Chargers defense can keep the reins in on Ben Roethlisberger and Jay Cutler, there will be a lot of happy Chargers fans, no matter how much they paid to watch the game.
