Conor Gillaspie’s home run lifts Giants over Mets (VIDEO)

Wild Card Game - San Francisco Giants v New York Mets

The San Francisco Giants had another unlikely hero step up for them in Wednesday’s Wild Card matchup against the Mets, and this time it was Conor Gillaspie.

In an excellent pitching matchup, with the score deadlocked at 0-0, Jeurys Familia came in to pitch for the Mets, and it will went downhill from there. Familia gave up a double to Brandon Crawford, and then a walk, and that’s when Gillaspie came to the plate.

Familia threw him a 98 mph sinker, but unfortunately, it didn’t sink. And Gillaspie didn’t miss it. The result was a three-run homer.

The craziest thing was that Gillaspie wasn’t even supposed to play in this game.

Watch out, other MLB playoff teams. It’s an even-numbered year, and here come the Giants.
