Celtics point guard Kyrie Irving was none too pleased about Gordon Hayward’s decision in the final seconds of Saturday’s 105-103 loss to the Magic.
Boston saw a 10-point halftime lead slip away in the final two quarters, although the team had a chance to tie or take the lead in the final seconds. Gordon Hayward was tasked with inbounding the ball on the play, and he passed it to Jayson Tatum, who ran into the corner. That made the Magic’s job of defending the shot much easier, as Tatum was forced to settle for a difficult fadeaway jumper, which he missed, thus ending the game.
Irving made his way over to Hayward and had some words with him immediately after the play was over, likely questioning his decision to throw the ball into the corner, which opposing defenses usually welcome. Hayward responded with a few words of his own, which led Irving to shake his head and walk by his teammate en route to the locker room.

This is the second time in as many games that Celtics teammates have gotten into it on the court, as Marcus Morris was seen confronting Jaylen Brown during Thursday’s loss to the Heat.
