Packers at Eagles Monday Night Football Live Tailgate…

If you really believe in computer simulation forecasts, this may be your Monday night— The Odds Shark mainframe calls it in favor of the Eagles, 31-17. I would say that’s a real reach, but last week the Odds Shark computer nailed almost the exact score of the Eagles’ loss to Seattle.

On the big board in Vegas we see the Eagles favored by 4 points, and the Over/Under is 48 points.

What the Odds Shark computer likes as comparison stats:

“Offensively, the game matches up the Philadelphia Eagles’ No. 13-ranked offense (24.1 PPG) against a Green Bay Packers defense that ranks No. 27 at 27.6 PPG. The Eagles passing attack has averaged 222.3 yards per game, less than the Packers give up through the air (264.6 YPG on average).”

“In comparing defenses, the Green Bay Packers own the league’s No. 6-rated front 7 in terms of stopping the run, allowing 96.2 yards per game when on the road. Philadelphia, on the other hand, rates No. 6 this week in generating rushing yards at home.”

“Aaron Rodgers beat the Redskins secondary for 3 TDs last time out, but the Packers lost to Washington 42-24 at FedExField.”

Okay— so the computer thinks the Eagles will compensate for any scoring Rodgers and company accomplish with matching scores by Carson Wentz and his offense—and more.

That means there will be plenty of critical jusgement by the broadcast media tonight as they inevitably gauge where Wentz is in his development compared to Aaron Rodgers’ progress back in his first fully active season.

Ron Jaworski had a few comments on that already:

“I don’t see anything he’s really behind in except experience,” Jaworski said. “And I think you can learn a lot when you’re going through some losses. Everyone celebrates wins and you kind of overlook your mistakes when you win, but when you lose those mistakes are magnified. He’s had a couple of errant throws that have hurt him and he’s had a couple of balls that he’s lost, where his ball placement wasn’t good. Those are things he will learn from. To me, the arrow is trending way up for Carson Wentz.”
