The End of An Era

“I have decided to retire early.”

Those are the infamous words from Conor McGregor’s premature retirement tweet that similarly rings true to my news to you today. It’s been an honor to write and produce Minnesota Timberwolves content for everyone over the past six years, but it’s time for me to move on and let Howlin’ T-Wolf grow in a new direction.

With that said, I have officially stepped down as Owner and Editor-In-Chief of Howlin’ T-Wolf.

It’s an incredibly difficult move because this blog, this medium and this community has honestly meant the world to me. I remember when I first joined under Founder Patrick Hodgdon as a writing intern. The thought of honing my craft and gearing up for what I hoped to be a long career in sport journalism was beyond enticing. And covering arguably my favorite sports franchise on an ESPN affiliated blog? Forget about it.

Since then I’ve grown a lot as a writer, an editor and a leader. I’ve been fortunate enough to always have one of the best crack team of writers to be the backbone of our content. They churn out recaps on an hour’s notice. They spend hours researching for long narrative pieces. They engage you all in Twitter beef, as annoying as that can be. None of this would be possible without those guys both past and present, so thank you.

As for me, this isn’t necessarily the end. I will help transition HTW’s new Owner (Who you’ll meet very soon) and Editor-In-Chief (Current staff member to be named soon) in their roles. I will stay involved as an advisor to everyone involved, and even still jump on Twitter to give you all my hot takes you so dearly love.

But I still want to say how much I’ve appreciated and cherished my time with HTW. The support has meant the world to me. Meeting new people and finding out they know all about HTW. “You’re THEE Howlin’ T-Wolf?!” I’m gonna miss it.

So once more, thanks for all the memories. Although I won’t be gone for good, stepping away from the bulk of my responsibilities is a change that I’m going to embrace but not without thinking about how fun of a ride this has been.
