Happy 4/20, by the way. No, I did not go to see The Grateful Dead Movie in its one day in theaters today. I have responsibilities, remember? I also own the movie and have seen it countless times. Speaking of adulthood vs. childish pursuits, the schedule came out yesterday. I have already seen Hacksaw Hamilton’s suggestion that the upcoming slate of games will be too difficult. Last season was supposed to be easy and look where that got us. Plus, we all know who the Chargers’ biggest rival is. The schedule is below, in the event you haven’t seen it. Here is a pic of my 40th birthday celebration where I have found the poor man’s Dan Fouts. If you can’t read it, the Chargers shirt I am wearing says “Whale’s Vagina.” If you don’t get the reference, go to another site immediately.

I am sure you already know about the asteriks and the “flex scheduling.” Our Cincy game was flexed because the Bangles looked to be so bad and they still reaped the benefits of our shitting the bed. I expect to be in Foxboro and East Rutherford. The game against the Jets is two days after my daughter’s 5th birthday and we are taking her to Disney. Just as our game against the Giants two seasons ago didn’t change the fact that they have won a Super Bowl with their 2004 draft pick and we have not, the “rematch” against the Jets won’t really mean shit. Then again, neither will our game against the Pats. I couldn’t help while watching the Knicks find two different yet equally painful ways to lose this week think of the story of another team…
Actually, the league is doing the Chargers a favor by giving them 3 of their first 4 at home when everyone knows how poorly they are in September. Then again, it would be just like the Bolts for those games to be wiped out by a delayed start.
Anyway, I will be back with some pre-draft stuff next week. The “Panic Room” is currently occupied by my infant son, so I can’t promise up-to-the minute commentary on Saturday.
Until then,
RLW
