Steelers linebacker Ryan Shazier continues to make major progress in his recovery from the serious spinal injury he suffered last year.
The injury occurred in a game against the Bengals last December, and it required Shazier to undergo spinal stabilization surgery. There was talk about Shazier possibly never playing football again, but he’s doing all he can to give himself the best chance of returning to the gridiron, judging by how committed he appears to be to his recovery process.
Shazier has been receiving a ton of support from Pittsburgh sports fans, as he’s been seen at both Penguins and Steelers games this year, receiving standing ovations while there. He’s apparently continuing to work out while going through rehab, as he was seen doing pull-ups on Joe Haden’s locker roughly two months ago.
And now he’s progressed to doing barbell deadlifts, as a recent video shows. Check out Shazier’s impeccable form on the lift.

It’s important to point out how fluid Shazier looked lifting the weight, as there was very little shaking or struggling. It appears he’s continuing to take steps toward recovering from the major injury, and we wish him the best going forward.
