The Conor McGregor vs the Nevada State Athletic Commission battle rages on.  McGregor, who was fined $150,000 for his part in a bottle throwing incident on August 17th, spoke to Rolling Stone about the fine and his future in Vegas, and, not surprisingly, he pulled no punches.

“Respect to them,” the fiery Irishman said about the NSAC.   “They wanted me to pay them and work for them at the same time. How can I not respect that? Good luck to them.”

“So, whatever. It is what it is,” he said about the fine.  “Good luck trying to get it.”

But that’s not all – McGregor has actually played the ultimate trump card in this battle – he says he’ll be taking his business (which is HUGE business for the NSAC) elsewhere going forward.

“I don’t see Nevada in my future, for the foreseeable future is how I see it,” McGregor stated.  “I’m free to do what I want. … I’m good. I’m good. New York, New York. That’s what I think.”

Five out of McGregor’s last six fights have been held in Las Vegas, and have grossed a little over $35 million in gate receipts.  The NSAC currently charges the promoter a 8% fee of gate receipts, meaning McGregor’s five fights there earned them $2,800,000 in fees.  Money talks.  And the smart money is on McGregor winning this battle.
