Finally some good news regarding a Demetrious Johnson headlined UFC card.  Mighty Mouse, despite being universally lauded as one of the greatest of all-time, has also been universally maligned for not being able to draw flies to his fights.  However, this past Saturday’s TUF: Tournament of Champions Finale, which saw Johnson successfully defend his featherweight strap against scrappy upstart Tim Elliott, pulled in a good TV rating.  Sports TV Ratings reports that the show drew an average of 1.032 million viewers (531,000 in 18-49 age group) for FS1.  The prelim portion did 887,000 (430,000 18-49).

Bellator, surprisingly, also got good numbers for their two injury-ravaged cards last weekend.  Friday’s Bellator 166 averaged 613,000 (289,000 18-49) viewers, and Saturday’s Bellator 167 got 545,000 (229,000 18-49).  Apparently it was a prime weekend to watch some fisticuffs.
