Good news for Jon Jones today. The exiled former UFC Light Heavyweight Champion has reached an agreement with the Nevada Athletic Commission (NAC) regarding his failed drug test from last summer. Ariel Helwani reports that the two sides have agreed to a one-year suspension, which will be formalized at the NAC’s December 15th hearing on the matter.
This mirrors the suspension previously handed down by the United States Anti-Doping Agency for this failed test, so Bones won’t have to serve any additional time for his use of a banned “dick pill” (his words). He will be free and clear to compete again next July 6th. At that time he’ll be two-weeks shy of his 30th birthday, and 15 months removed from his last octagon appearance, a victory over Ovince Saint Preux at UFC 197 on April 23rd of this year.
