Buffalo Bills vs. Eagles in PS2 has a few good storylines

The Buffalo Bills are in town tonight, which means it’s a homecoming of sorts for Shady McCoy. Whether you love him or hate him, he’s still the Eagles’ all-time leading rusher with 6,792 yards gained and 44 TD’s scored on the ground.

There are a few more important storylines ahead for the Eagles tonight, however:

-How will right guard Brandon Brooks hold up? This will be his first preseason start coming off an ankle injury earlier in TC…

-No Wendell Smallwood tonight (hamstring), so the running backs competition will be on full display, especially between Corey Clement and Donnel Pumphrey. Speaking of Pumphrey and his ball security misadventures last week,  I won’t be the only one holding my breath each time he gets a touch…but I’m pulling for the kid.

-Rookie LB/converted safety Nathan Gerry will get plenty of playing time tonight to follow up upon the very good game he played against the Packers last week. They’re giving this kid every chance in the world to prove he belongs in the league on a quality NFL defense.

– Agholor Spartacus will share slot receiver reps with Greg Ward and Rashard Davis. Hold on, Ags, hold on!

-Yes, Alshon Jeffery will start at WR, but don’t miss the first series of plays on offense or you may not get to see him. They’re going to give Marcus Johnson (6-1, 204, Texas) a long look at wide receiver tonight. I really hope he cuts off those dreadlocks if he makes the team. His dreads are so long he could easily be tackled by the hair.

Kickoff is set for 7:00 P.M. EST, which is midnight London time.

You can watch the Eagles Network Broadcast with Scott Graham and Mike Mayock in the booth and Dave Spadaro on the sidelines on NBC10.  NFL Network will re-air the game on Friday at 10 a.m. EST.
If you want to hear Merrill and Mike, they will be on SportsRadio 94WIP as well as the desktop version of PhiladelphiaEagles.com.

NFL Game Pass also provides fans who are out of the Philadelphia market with the ability to watch the preseason games live.

A bunch of us tried out a new in-game conversation app last week, and I had a lot of fun with it, so much so that I’m going to be there again tonight during the game. Our regular commentator and home-run king Ryan Lubrich (aka The Lubricator, aka GSXR Mustang) has created an alternative chat forum for in-game real-time conversation.

It’s on a site called discord.com. Here’s a link to his interesting new machine if you wish to give it a look:

As Ryan explains, it’s like a chat channel, primarily used by like-gamers that stream on twitch, but he figured we might be able to use it for gameday chats. I found it to be very functional and very entertaining. It took me a few minutes to get the hang of some of the buttons and bells, but after a short while I was zooming along with the other guys and Bored members there talking Eagles football.

See you at the game!
