Conor McGregor is still running his mouth, and we’ll soon see if he backs up his trash talk at T-Mobile Arena on Saturday night.
McGregor has been saying a lot of things about how the upcoming fight against Floyd Mayweather Jr. — the GOAT — will go. He even said he’s considering starting some sort of hybrid sport that combines MMA and boxing, even though that’s exactly what MMA is by definition.
Anyway, McGregor has been boldly claiming that he’s going to knock (49-0) Mayweather out, but the GOAT seems to feel the same.
When asked about his prediction for the fight, he had this to say, via Dan Rafael of ESPN.com
“One hundred percent, it will not go the distance. One hundred percent chance this fight won’t go the distance.
“I say I guarantee it won’t go the distance. He says it’s not going the distance. I say it’s not going the distance. So it’s obvious we going to come out from the opening bell and drop bombs.”
Something has to give, as it’s highly unlikely that they’re going to knock each other out — although that would set up for one hell of a rematch.
