Houston Texans quarterback Brock Osweiler doesn’t care what those outside of the organization think about his play.
In fact, he thinks the opinions of anyone else criticizing him are “hilarious.”
Osweiler said as much in an interview with John McClain of the Houston Chronicle:
“I think that’s hilarious, to be honest with you,” he said. “The critique comes from a whole lot of people that don’t know my read on that play. They’ve probably never actually sat in an offensive meeting in their life, let alone a quarterback meeting in the National Football League.
“That’s why I don’t look at Twitter. That’s why – no offense to anybody (media) in here — I don’t watch anything. I don’t read anything.”
To be fair to Osweiler, he’s learning a new system with a new team. Like most, he should tune out what people have to say.
Then again, Osweiler has started with three touchdowns to four interceptions after inking a contract worth $72 million. His team took a 27-0 whipping at the hands of a Tom Brady-less New England Patriots team a week ago. So yeah, people will talk about the team’s performance, and he’s the quarterback.
Osweiler, in theory, will get better the more time he has with the Texans. It’s good he doesn’t read anything in the meantime. Now he can work on not talking about it, too.
