The Cardinals — in desperate need of a running back — made a move and traded for Adrian Peterson, with stud RB David Johnson on injured reserve.
Arizona tried the “running back by committee” approach, and it failed miserably. Just ask Chris Johnson, who was re-signed by the team just a month ago, and has now been released. It’s been quite the roller coaster ride for him.
The same goes for Peterson, who many had high hopes for playing behind Drew Brees. But his production was been underwhelming to say the least, as he’s carried the ball 27 times for only 81 yards so far this year.
With that said, it’s safe to say Peterson will be motivated to turn that around in Arizona, but the rest remains to be seen. To hype fans up for his tenure with the team, the Cardinals released a “hype video” of sorts to officially welcome him.
It’s pretty much just him walking around the field at the practice facility, and that’s it.

Kind of fitting that Peterson was walking, though, since that’s essentially what he’s been doing in the backfield so far this season, averaging 3.0 yards per carry.
