Charles Barkley rips Warriors for playing ‘girly basketball’

NCAA Men's Final Four - Practice

Charles Barkley is an old-school guy, and has never been a fan of the Warriors’ style of play.

And he probably never will be, as it’s part of his belief system, but also is pretty good for TV ratings. Viewers want to see what he’ll say next.

This week’s edition of “Chuck on the Dubs” was more of the same, and he ripped them for playing a more athletic, uptempo style of play.

“Maybe I’m old school, but I’m never going to like that little girly basketball where you have to outscore people,” Barkley said on “Inside the NBA” on Thursday night.

He then somehow compared it to women’s college basketball, which seems weird.

“I love Geno Auriemma, [he is] one of my favorite people. I love women’s college basketball. But I don’t want it in the NBA.”

It may be girly, but it’s effective. The NBA isn’t the same as it was two decades ago, and Barkley still can’t come to grips with that.
