The Conor McGregor vs Nevada Athletic Commission battle took another strange turn. Which isn’t very surprising considering we’re talking about the Nevada Athletic Commission.  The NAC’s executive director Bob Bennett told MMA Fighting yesterday that McGregor’s widely and universally reported (and derided) $150,000 fine for his part in a bottle throwing brouhaha with Nate Diaz and crew in Las Vegas was incorrect.  McGregor is actually only being fined $75,000, according to Bennett.

So where did the other $75,000 half of the reported fine come from?  Bennett says that is the value that they are assigning to the public service announcement that McGregor is on the hook to do for the commission.

It can never be simple and transparent and rational when you’re dealing with the NAC.
