There’s no love lost between the Pittsburgh Steelers and Cincinnati Bengals, especially when it comes to Vontaze Burfict.
Burfict, who has injured players such as Le’Veon Bell and Antonio Brown on tackles in the past, got a bit of his own medicine Sunday thanks to Steelers offensive lineman David DeCastro.
Burfict went low—and so did DeCastro:

Ouch. Burfict got sent to the lockerroom after the wicked hit, with many on Twitter reacted about as you’d expect:

Dirty? Or a football play? Rest assured both teams will have plenty to say on the matter after the game. Either way, a play of this nature was all but expected between the rivals.
Despite losing Burfict, the Bengals clutched a solid lead going into the fourth quarter of the AFC North showdown. And in the end, Burfict made it back onto the field and was later seen getting flagged for a personal foul after throwing down Pittsburgh quarterback Ben Roethlisberger.
Long story short, the NFL’s nastiest rivalry continued in full force Sunday.
