It's gonna take a miracle now for the Eagles to get to the post-season in 2012.. and certainly nothing short of a 7-0 run.
But miracles do happen. So I won't give my surrender speech just yet…
Mike Vick got knocked out of the game with double vision and concussion symptoms. Nick Foles entered the game as a rookie QB. "Shaggy" almost pulled it off…but in the end, he became a victim of unchecked pass-rush pressure, too… And the hay was put into the Cowboys' barn, not Philly's…
The Eagles fell apart in the second half against Dallas on Sunday.
The Cowboys scored three touchdowns — one each on offense, special teams and defense — in a span of 2 minutes, 35 seconds to earn a 38-23 victory over the Eagles at Lincoln Financial Field.
Eagles quarterback Michael Vick left the game in the first half and was replaced by rookie Nick Foles.
The Eagles have now lost five straight for the first time during coach Andy Reid's 14 season. They last lost five in a row to open the 1998 season in coach Ray Rhodes' final year.
The Eagles led 17-10 when Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo started the rally with a 30-yard touchdown pass to wide receiver Dez Bryant on the final play of the third quarter. Dwayne Harris next scored on a 78-yard punt return, and cornerback Brandon Carr returned a tipped interception of Foles for 47 yards and a TD.
Foles replaced Vick in the second quarter after Vick suffered his concussion. Foles completed 22-of-32 passes for 218 yards with one TD and one interception.
The Eagles cut the gap to 31-23 on fullback Stanley Havili's 1-yard TD with 1:55 to go, but Alex Henery missed his first extra point in two years.
On the next possession, Foles fumbled on a sack by Cowboys defensive tackle Anthony Spencer, and defensive tackle Jason Hatcher recovered it in the end zone for a touchdown.
And that was the ball game…
