Fighters of the Week

  1. Andre Ward: It was a close fight, and one only needs to look at the Maurice Hooker debacle from earlier in the card to see a real robbery, but it was Ward to got the one-point edge on the judges cards after being down three points after two rounds to pick himself off the canvas, literally, and grind out a win over Sergey Kovalev, becoming the top light heavyweight in the world.
  2. Michael Chandler: Put on a fantastic title bout with Benson Henderson AND managed to avoid the Patented Benson Henderson Title Fight Judging Weirdness!
  3. Yana Kunitskaya: Dethroned Tonya Evinger in under two minutes to become the new Invicta Bantamweight Champion via an armbar.
  4. Jo Nattawut: The dual-champion successfully defeneded his super welterweight strap over Hasan Toy, pitching a shutout and remaining Lion Fight’s top dog.
  5. Angela Hill: The reigning Invicta Strawweight champ retained her gold in a hard-fought five-round tilt with Kaline Medeiros.

 
6. Antonina Shevchenko: The younger Bullet retained her Lion Fight gold with a shutout.
7. Gegard Mousasi: Avenged his wild loss to Uriah Hall with a TKO of his own in the main event of Ireland’s Fight Pass card Saturday.
8. Ryan Bader: Bested Lil’ Nog for the second time, this time by TKO in the main event of Fight Night to stay in the upper-echelon at 205.
9. DJ Jackson: Is the Fight 2 Win Pro middleweight champion after a guillotine victory over John Combs at F2W 18.
10. Justin Rader/Mansher Khera/James Brasco/Eliot Kelly/Tom DeBlass: These five won their spot in the 2017 ADCC World Championships by winning their North American trials over the weekend.
11. Joao Miyao/Otavio Sousa/Joao Rocha/Aarae Alexander/Ida Floisvik/Dominyka Obelenyte: Your gold medal winners of the 2016 IBJJF New York Pro Championships.
12. Iman Barlow: The Pretty Killer defended her Enfusion 54kg gold in the main event of Enfision Live 43.
13. Eliot Marshall: In the co-main of Fight To Win 18, Marshall earned a submission win over Bruno Bastos, and a huge feather in his cap.
14. Oleksandr Gvozdyk: Unfortunate that the fight was stopped because of an injury, but Gvozdyk was well on his way to victory over Isaac Chilemba and continues to be a tremendous prospect in the light heavyweight division.
15. Claressa Shields: The greatest American female Olympic boxer ever made her pro debut on the Ward-Kovalev undercard in a winning effort.
