Here’s how our own resident analyst ~Broz picked his most recent Drafttek board for the Eagles:
8 | Philadelphia |
Jalen Ramsey Florida State FS Reach/Value: +5 |
Height: 6’1″ Weight: 201 |
Alternate Pick #1 (CB) Vernon Hargreaves III Alternate Pick #2 (OLB) Shaq Lawson |
“The Eagles have made some very solid moves in the last two weeks, one of which was moving from the 13th pick up to the 8th in next month’s draft. This means that instead of choosing from good prospects, they’ll be choosing from elite prospects. With the 8th pick, the primary goal shouldn’t be to fill a need; the goal should be to draft a superstar. The popular choice in the media right now is Ezekiel Elliott, however even when you “hit” on a RB, their shelf life is so much shorter than other positions.
“So while Elliott is a dynamic runner (aided by a dynamic OSU O-Line), Ramsey gets the nod this week for many reasons, not the least of which is the fact that he’s one of the Top 3 players in the draft. The Eagles would draft Ramsey as a corner, knowing that as a Plan B he could be a Pro Bowl safety. Vernon Hargreaves has better short range coverage skills than Ramsey, but Ramsey has the deep ball skills, catch-up speed, and limitless upside that Hargreaves simply does not possess. Watch him shift gears at 0:19 on that dude. With a 40 time of 4.41 and a vertical jump of 41.5 “, Ramsey is in play to be the number one overall pick. ~Brozer, Eagles Analyst”

I would be remiss if I did not recognize the latest fallen warrior:
The Eagles are saddened by the loss of former fullback Kevin Turner, who passed away at the age of 46 after a six-year battle with ALS (Lou Gehrig’s Disease).
Turner’s career began with the New England Patriots, but he joined the Eagles in 1995 and played the rest of his career in Philadelphia before retiring in 1999. Turner scored four touchdowns in his career with the Eagles and totaled over 1,400 yards from scrimmage. He was teammates with both current head coach Doug Pederson and running backs coach Duce Staley.
Members of the front office and coaching staff issued the following statements:
Eagles Chairman and CEO Jeffrey Lurie:
“We lost a special person today in Kevin Turner. He was extremely courageous and inspiring throughout his life. I will never forget how excited we were when we signed him in 1995 and how valuable of a player he was leading the way for Ricky Watters, Charlie Garner and Duce Staley. But as good of a football player as he was, he was even a better man. His high character, kindness and respectful nature stood out to me the most. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends during this difficult time.”
Eagles head coach Doug Pederson, a teammate of Turner’s in 1999:
“It’s a sad day. Even though I only spent one year of my career with Kevin Turner in Philadelphia, it didn’t take but more than a few days to know how special a person he was, how great a teammate he was, and how great a leader he was in the locker room. He was a special person on and off the field. I will always remember the great work his foundation did over the years and I will always remember the way he fought until the very end.”
Eagles running backs coach Duce Staley, a backfield mate of Turner’s from 1997-99:
“There was no one more serious and more prepared than Kevin Turner. His professionalism and respect were second to none. He made me a better pro. We lost a good man and a good teammate today. We will all miss him.”
