The San Antonio Spurs lost their first road game of the season on Thursday night against the Chicago Bulls, 95-91. The team found itself down 13 points at halftime, and the comeback attempt fell just short when it was all said and done.
San Antonio had won all 13 games away from AT&T Center so far this year, so it was only a matter of time until that streak was due to come to an end.
Still, head coach Gregg Popovich was not happy about his team’s performance after the game. He was asked about the loss by reporters, and said he was unhappy with their lack of preparation.
“It’s your job,” he said. “If you’re a plumber and you don’t do your job, you don’t get any work. I don’t think a plumber needs a pep talk. If a doctor botches operations, he’s not a doctor anymore. If you’re a basketball player, you come ready. It’s called maturity. It’s your job. ”

Popovich demands a high level of effort every time his players step foot on the floor, and if he doesn’t feel like they played up to their potential, he’s going to hold them accountable.
