AV said Buchnevich, who skated after practice, is progressing well. He may travel w/ #NYR this week but will not play.

Interesting that AV won’t play Jooris and Lindberg simultaneously and is opting for Hvirik here. I might understand a bit more if the Rangers were boarding a plane today but they’re not. The coach is clearly much higher on Hvirik than many fans seem to be.
The Rangers medical staff has taken a lot of criticism in the past, especially on this blog, but they’ve been doing the right thing with bringing along Buchnevich as slow as possible. Hoping he’s back on the ice in the next 7-10 days.
Elsewhere a couple Rangers prospects had decent weekends in their games. Sergey Zborovskiy notched a two goal, five assist night in the WHL on Saturday for the Regina Pats in a 12-2 win. Zborovskiy is also on the preliminary roster for Team Russia for the World Junior Championships that start up in a few weeks.
Last night, Sean Day scored twice late in the third period and again in OT to lift his team to a 3-2 win in action yesterday. You can watch his goals here:
