Sixers big man Joel Embiid scored a career-high 46 points in Wednesday night’s win over the Lakers, and that earned him a shot in the spotlight, which came in the form of a postgame interview following the nationally-televised affair that was broadcast live on ESPN.
Embiid had the game of his life and was dominant from start to finish. He became the first NBA player with 45+ points, 15 rebounds, seven assists and seven blocks in a game since blocks became official in 1973-74, according to Elias Sports Bureau.
ESPN’s Molly Qerim asked Embiid if he was aware of his stat line after the game in a postgame interview, but the Sixers center didn’t really have a chance to answer. That’s because comedian Kevin Hart snuck up behind him and began chanting “Trust the process” to derail the interview, much to Embiid’s amusement.

Hart drew some laughs, as he’s been known to do, but Embiid was the clear star at Staples center on Wednesday night.
