Two of the league’s best point guards went at it in what was a thrilling finish to Wednesday’s Wizards-Celtics game.
John Wall and Kyrie Irving traded buckets in the epic final minute of overtime, and the better player ended up winning the battle — leading his team to victory.
The Wizards were clinging to a one-point lead with under 45 seconds remaining, when Irving set up on the wing, being guarded closely by Wall. He didn’t need much room, though, as Irving pulled up and drained a difficult three-pointer to give his team the lead.
Wall went right back and drove at Irving, finishing at the rim via a layup to tie the game.
But Irving saved his best for last, dribbling around near the logo, then pulling up and draining a triple from outer space — in Wall’s face — for the win.
