I usually follow the 1st Round of the NFL Draft by tuning in NFLN on my TV and setting the back on ESPN….and I get WIP-Eagles radio set up out on the deck for commercial breaks and “smoke” breaks…
But this year, due to the premature nature of knowing whom we are already going to select at #2 overall, and without any further picks until Day 2 unless some grenade trade is dropped regarding the ridiculous posturing of Sam Bradford, I am sticking with the Homeland report from PE.com.
Live coverage of the Draft from a Philadelphia Eagles perspective begins on PhiladelphiaEagles.com and their Mobile App on Thursday evening at 7:30 P.M. EST. on Eagles Draft Central with hosts Chris McPherson and former offensive lineman Ross Tucker. They will be providing in-depth analysis of the Eagles’ first-round selection throughout the night. Once again, Fran Duffy and Greg Cosell will break down the tape of either Goff or Wentz, depending on whom the Eagles select, to give you a more in-depth look at the newest Eagles quarterback. The show will also feature segments with coaches and analysts most familiar with the player selected at No. 2 overall.
They will also provide behind-the-scenes content from Dave Spadaro inside the NovaCare Complex and from Alex Smith, who will be in Chicago to get an exclusive one-on-one interview with the player shortly after he is drafted. Once the pick is made, Howie Roseman and head coach Doug Pederson will provide their thoughts on the selection.
Friday at 6:30 P.M. will be when second-day coverage picks up where Day 1 left off with footage of the first-round pick’s arrival to Philadelphia. The player will also be in studio, giving you access you won’t be able to find anywhere else, and his introductory press conference will be streamed live. To ensure you don’t miss any of the coverage, tune in to PE.com and download the Eagles Mobile App. The Eagles are currently slotted to pick at the No. 79 spot on Day 2.
On Saturday at 11:30 A.M., to conclude the 2016 NFL Draft coverage, Eagles Draft Central will be live prior to and following each of the team’s five Day 3 selections. The Eagles’ third-round selection will also be live in-studio and his first meeting with the Philadelphia media will be available to watch on PE.com and the Eagles Mobile App.

The 10th Annual MACH 10 Draft Challenge lives on here as the greatest Eagles fan contest ever invented. Sadly, there is dissension among the veteran posters here over a simple rules modification which permits 2 bonus free throws in this year’s edition. The dissension has confused participants and affected the voter turnout. Frankly, I don’t have a problem with adding modifications to a game which has proven over the years to be a special test of human rationale and vision. It’s still the same game—you’re up at the plate and you have to swing at or lay off the pitch you see coming at you. The temptations of predicting whatever the Draft or Howie in this case will throw at you are the same as if you had 10 swings, 12 swings or 20 swings.
By the way,the Eagles added defensive tackle Mike Martin this week, signing him to a one-year contract. Martin played for four seasons with Tennessee and he’s here to compete with Beau Allen, Taylor Hart and Travis Raciti for a roster spot and playing time. Martin was a third-round pick of Tennessee in 2012 and his production declined in his years there. Martin was hampered by a knee injury in 2015 and played in just five games, missing the final 11 contests. Glorified camp body? Maybe. But nothing is certain right now in this crazy Eagles world.
