3. Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Here’s a team that drafted a running back fairly early last season and couldn’t really get much out of him. I can’t say Ronald Jones is finished with the Bucs, but with a new head coach out there in Tampa, things change, and anything can happen. The Bucs haven’t had a reliable back since Doug Martin.
They have tried to patch up their backfield a few times, but so far they haven’t had success. The Buccaneers could use a proven running back, and Ajayi makes sense in this case. Once again, the veteran running back can’t expect a career resurgence in Tampa, but he could give them a solid season.
As the Buccaneers look to revamp themselves with the addition of Bruce Arians, they need all of the solid talents they can get. Signing Ajayi is far from a bad idea, and a rotation of Jones and Ajayi could be productive.
