2. Ezekiel Elliott – Dallas Cowboys
Before Saquon Barkley was drafted within the top five of the 2018 NFL Draft, there was another Big Ten running back, who was drafted with a top-five selection in the 2016 NFL Draft.
That running back was Ezekiel Elliott, who has carried a huge workload for the Cowboys and is one of the main reasons why they won the NFC East last season.
Just like his former Big Ten counterpart, the former Ohio State standout had an impressive rookie campaign, producing 1,994 yards from scrimmage (1,631 rushing yards and 15 touchdowns).
Even though Elliott’s rookie season was outstanding, his performance last season was downright impressive. The 6-foot running back had a career-high 381 touches for 2,001 yards from scrimmage.
Simply put, Elliott is a playmaker and someone you need to always account for when he is lined up in the backfield.
