1. Patrick Mahomes – Kansas City Chiefs
After only playing in one game his rookie season, the former Texas Tech standout put on an absolute show last season as the Chiefs’ starting quarterback.
The 6-foot-3 signal-caller completed 66 percent of his passes for 5,097 yards, 50 touchdowns, and only 12 interceptions. He also led Kansas City to the AFC championship, where they would lose in overtime to the New England Patriots.
With those types of numbers, Mahomes not only won the 2018 Offensive Player of the Year award but was named the NFL MVP.
Fast forward to this season and the third-year quarterback is one of the favorites to the MVP. If Mahomes can put up record-breaking numbers again and get the Chiefs to the Super Bowl, he’ll repeat as the league’s MVP.
