Seahawks cornerback Richard Sherman has never been shy in expressing his discontent over how the NFL operates.
And with Seattle set to square off against Los Angeles on Thursday night, Sherman had a chance to open up about another issue that many players and coaches around the league have been upset about. The NFL has taken full advantage of the additional “primetime” football game, selling television rights and advertisements, but it’s certainly had an effect on how teams go about training and preparing, with having to play on such short rest.
Sherman certainly isn’t a fan of Thursday Night Football, calling this particular matchup against the Rams a “poopfest” in speaking with reporters on Tuesday, which USA Today’s Alysha Tsuji transcribed.
“Poopfest. It’s terrible. We played, got home at like 1 o’clock in the morning or something like that on Monday, and then we gotta play again. Congratulations NFL, you did it again! But they’ve been doing it all season, so I guess we’re the last ones to get the middle finger…
“It’s just no regard. It’s hypocritical, as I’ve stated before. They make this huge stance about player safety, and then you put the players in tremendous danger…
“We’ll do a whole separate press conference about me and my disagreements with the league and their nonsense.”
