Rob Gronkowski addresses possibility of retirement in 2019

NFL: Buffalo Bills at New England Patriots

There was a time when it was looking as if Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski would retire before the season began. Rumors were swirling about him contemplating not returning for 2018, due to injuries and some discrepancies with the Patriots organization,

But he did eventually come back for another season, and so far, his 2018 campaign has been the least productive of his entire career.

It’s unclear if it’s injuries or a lack of motivation slowing him down, but whatever the reason, Gronk just isn’t the same player anymore. He’s clearly lost a step, and it’s unclear if he’ll play next season. He was recently asked about his future, and he didn’t provide much on the subject.

“I haven’t been thinking about it at all,” Gronk said, shutting the question down as quickly as it arose.

“I love the grind, I’m all in. I have been all year,” he continued.

It will be interesting to see what the playoffs/offseason bring, as it relates to Gronk’s future.
