It’s appearing as if the Panthers’ losing streak is taking a toll on head coach Ron Rivera, judging by his actions during a press conference on Tuesday.
The Panthers were once competing for the NFC South division title, at 6-2 — but they’ve somehow lost six straight games since then, which is difficult to fathom, given the talent on their roster.
Rivera was asked about the possibility of him being fired in the future — specifically, if he hates hearing questions about it.
“Absolutely, because I don’t know,” he said. “I’ve been through it a couple of times my first two seasons. But at the end of the day it comes down to one person, and that’s the only one that knows.’’
The Panthers head coach was then asked if he wants to return as head coach, and that’s when he got snippy with the reporter.
“That is a stupid question,” Rivera responded. “That really is, and I’m not going to answer that one. I’m very happy where I am. I do appreciate my place here on this football team and in this city and in this community.’’
Ron Rivera says he "absolutely" hates being asked about what his future holds because he is not the one who makes that decision.

That was a bit of a trollish question, and it did appear that the reporter was trying to push Rivera’s buttons, in hopes of getting a reaction out of him (and it worked).
